International barcodes will soon become a reality for products from Kosovo in international markets.

The President of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, Lulzim Rafuna, held a meeting with the President of the GS1 Turkey Foundation, Elif Muftuoglu, during which he expressed gratitude for the continuous support that GS1 Turkey has provided to Kosovo in the process of joining the international GS1 barcode network – a system that ensures global identification and recognition of products.

“Thanks to this cooperation, GS1 Kosovo will successfully begin issuing international barcodes, paving the way for products from Kosovo to gain broader recognition and presence in international markets,” the statement reads.

According to the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce, this step will add value, credibility, and safety to Kosovar products — both for local and international consumers.

The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce expressed special appreciation to GS1 Turkey and Elif Muftuoglu for their sincere cooperation and professional support in this important process for the country’s economic development, reports KosovaPress.

Thanks to GS1, products registered in Kosovo can be identified and tracked globally, enabling easier access to international markets, increased efficiency in logistics, and greater transparency in the supply chain.
