For three consecutive days, an American Investors Conference is being held in Pristina.

This is seen as a strategic opportunity to attract foreign investment and accelerate infrastructure development in the capital, reports KosovaPress.

These investments were particularly highlighted in relation to the organization of the 2030 Mediterranean Games.

A message was also delivered via video by General Wesley Clark, who said he is proud of the people of Kosovo.

“I also want to say that I think the government has a big role to play, first in creating a good environment here, welcoming investors, providing government support, and also the ability to build public-private partnerships. So all of these need to be on the table this morning. I am very proud of the people of Kosovo. You went through a lot during the 1980s and 1990s. You earned your freedom and your statehood. And I have been very pleased to see this, very proud to be back and to be connected with many of you,” he said.

The Mayor of the capital, Përparim Rama, said that Pristina is a fast-growing European center built for investment.

“What makes Pristina particularly attractive goes beyond the projects themselves. We offer: a highly motivated, young and skilled workforce — educated, multilingual, and eager to innovate. Low operating costs and a competitive 10% corporate tax rate. A strategic location in the heart of Southeast Europe, with access to a regional market of over 20 million people. Sustainable economic growth — around 4% annual GDP growth — and a clear commitment to transparency and ease of doing business,” Rama said.

He added that the American Investors Conference is taking place at a decisive moment.

The U.S. Chargé d’Affaires in Kosovo, Anu Prattipati, said that Pristina is the economic engine of the country.

She also spoke about the 2030 Mediterranean Games, saying that the need for world-class infrastructure presents an opportunity for American investors to leave a lasting legacy.

“And as we look ahead to the 2030 Mediterranean Games, the need for world-class infrastructure, including sports facilities, transport networks, hospitality, and urban development, presents a timely opportunity for American investors to leave a lasting legacy, not only for the Games but for generations to come. The summit directly advances the U.S. Embassy’s priority of deepening economic ties and fostering mutual prosperity. By connecting U.S. businesses with high-potential opportunities in one of the region’s emerging economic hubs, we are strengthening a pro-American business climate that benefits both our nations. Pristina is not just a destination. It is a gateway to regional markets, offering American companies the chance to operate at scale efficiently and positioning Kosovo as a competitive hub for trade in Southeast Europe. The United States believes in Kosovo’s potential. We see a business community that is open, committed to reform, and ready to partner with American companies to drive sustainable growth,” she added.

The Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, Arian Zeka, said that “the diaspora remains one of the country’s most strategic assets.”
