Prime Minister Kurti, in a meeting with Memli Krasniqi, talks about the further steps for Vetting

After the opinion received by the Venice Commission, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo with the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi. According to a press release of the Government of Kosovo, together with the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu and the Deputy Minister Nita Shala, Prime Minister Kurti spoke about the further steps regarding this process and the importance of joint coordination. “The Government of the Republic of Kosovo has approved the concept document for the development of the Vetting process in the justice system, as well as has prepared the draft constitutional amendments and the draft law on vetting in the justice system. Given the importance of this process, respect for European standards, as well as human rights, the Ministry of Justice had sent a request to the Venice Commission, in order to provide an opinion on the Concept Paper on vetting in the justice system and the draft constitutional amendments. On June 17, 2022, the Venice Commission adopted the Vetting Opinion. In order to further inform about this process, joint coordination and involvement of all actors, Prime Minister Kurti has invited the leaders of the parliamentary opposition parties: the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo. The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has confirmed the meeting with Prime Minister Kurti, while the Democratic League of Kosovo has stated that they will give their contribution to the Assembly of Kosovo ", it is said in the announcement.
