Pre-Eid prices: Inspectorate takes action across Kosovo, penalizes traders
The Central Market Surveillance Inspectorate has launched a wide inspection campaign across the territory of Kosovo to verify prices and protect consumers ahead of the Eid holiday.
This inspectorate, operating under the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation, reports that inspections have been carried out throughout the week and continue today.
According to the announcement, the campaign aims to verify product prices, check the correct labeling of their origin, and ensure the accuracy of declarations for consumers.
The Inspectorate emphasizes that it remains committed to protecting citizens from unfair trade practices and any actions that violate the applicable legislation.
“Through these inspections, the aim is to increase market transparency and create a fair and reliable environment for consumers,” the announcement from the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade, and Innovation reads, as reported by KosovaPress.
It also states that punitive measures have been taken against economic operators found to be in violation of the law, in accordance with the legal provisions in force.
The Inspectorate has indicated that such campaigns will continue in the coming days to ensure the protection of consumer rights and the proper functioning of the market.
