The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) last night arrested a police officer in Prizren on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “domestic violence.”

In its statement, the IPK said that it received information about the case on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, as part of administrative and investigative procedures, the IPK has suspended the police officer.

“IPK received information yesterday afternoon regarding the suspicion that a police officer in Prizren had committed the criminal offense of domestic violence. After receiving the information, IPK investigators went to the scene and took the necessary investigative actions. Following several initial investigative steps, the competent prosecutor was consulted, and by the prosecutor’s decision, the police officer was placed under a 48-hour detention. Regarding the same case, as part of administrative and investigative procedures, the police officer has been suspended from the Kosovo Police on the recommendation of the IPK. IPK investigators, in full coordination with the Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Prizren, will continue to undertake further investigative actions to fully clarify all circumstances related to this case,” the IPK statement reads.
