All persons who have had final sentences in the last three years cannot run for mayor and assembly in this year's local elections. Based on the decision of the Constitutional Court, the norm set in the general elections of February 14 will be followed in the local elections. Consequently, the CEC is expected to remove from the list those who aspire to be elected by the citizens, but have final sentences from the court in the last three years. In this regard, the former President of the Supreme Court, Fejzullah Hasani in an interview for KosovaPress requests the amendment of the Law on Elections, respectively Article 29, point "q" to enable persons with suspended sentences, fines and court reprimands to run in local elections.
