During her visit to Washington D.C., President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, where she emphasized Kosovo’s commitment to building new chapters of strategic cooperation with the United States “in line with President Donald Trump’s strong vision.”

“Kosovo stands side by side with the United States to build new chapters of strategic cooperation, in line with President Trump’s strong vision. More security. More development. More opportunities for our citizens and our businesses,” Osmani wrote on Facebook after the meeting.

Speaking on Thursday at Johns Hopkins University, Osmani also referred to President Trump’s role in maintaining peace in the region. According to her, the U.S. President made an extraordinary contribution by preventing a possible escalation by Serbia against Kosovo.

Osmani’s remarks follow recent statements by President Trump, who emphasized that during his first term he prevented a potential military confrontation between Kosovo and Serbia.
