The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, visited Gjakova following the floods of recent days, where she expressed solidarity with the citizens and praised the institutional engagement in managing the situation.

She added that there are families affected by the situation and that institutions will stand by them.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Gjakova, Ardian Gjini, described the president’s visit as important and said the situation is moving toward stabilization.

He announced that there were also evacuations during the floods.

Gjini added that municipal teams are working on repairing damages and cleaning affected areas. “We are repairing the damage where we can, clearing roads from collapses, floods, or debris which, unfortunately, has caused significant damage—unfortunately, it must be said,” he said. According to him, the official damage assessment process will begin tomorrow.
