Units of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) lined up on Thursday, the first day of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Epic, KosovaPress reports.

President Vjosa Osmani said the KLA Epic is proof that freedom is won through sacrifice and unity.

She added that the KSF is a worthy heir to the KLA, carrying the ideal of freedom in its heart and the responsibility for the country's security in its hands.

“The March 1998 Epic is proof that freedom is won through sacrifice, unity, and belief in our right to live freely in our ancestral homelands. Today, our pride does not remain in the past alone; it marches before us in modern uniforms, with high professionalism and unwavering dedication to our Republic. The KSF is a worthy heir of the KLA. It carries the ideal of freedom in its heart and holds the responsibility for the country’s security in its hands,” said Osmani.

The KSF was also mentioned by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who said it is likewise the heir of the KLA.

“The heir of the KLA, the KSF, has become a military force that, together with NATO armies, deploys on missions that build and maintain peace worldwide. All of this has happened and continues under the orders and command of a military barracks named Adem Jashari… Every day, the growth and progress of Kosovo’s army are increasingly evident. This is the result of multimillion-dollar government investments in equipment and weapon systems,” said Kurti.
