Shortly before the end of the voting process, Jehona Lushaku-Sadriu, member of the leadership of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), commented for KosovaPress on voter turnout in the elections.

According to her, the lower turnout compared to previous elections is linked to citizens’ disappointment with the current government and political crises that, she said, have not been resolved.

“The lower turnout compared to previous elections is due to citizens’ disappointment with the previous government and the political crises that have not been resolved. This is specifically attributed to the largest party, as they have been in a position to run the institutions and, as a result of disagreements, have led the country to elections. I expect Vetevendosje voters to be disappointed and not to have turned out for the elections,” Lushaku-Sadriu said.

She also spoke about expectations from the election results, saying she expects a significantly better result for LDK than in December.

“As a party, we have taken bold steps forward. We have included an open list with people outside the party structure. We have united both our structures and people from outside it, and we have offered citizens a programmatic alternative. We expect the result to be much better than in December and we expect a comeback for our party,” she said.
