In honor of the 14th anniversary of the declaration of Kosovo's Independence, the Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj, together with the Kosovo Security Forces, paid homage to the Adem Jashari Memorial Complex. In honor of the 14th anniversary of Kosovo's statehood, this morning a solemn raising of the flag of the Republic of Kosovo was attended by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, the Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, the Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, the Minister of Defense, Armend Mehaj and the commander of the KSF, Bashkim Jashari. The Independence of Kosovo was declared on February 17, 2008 at 15:39 in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo. In an extraordinary session attended by 109 MPs out of a total of 120, the Assembly of Kosovo unanimously declared Kosovo an independent, sovereign and democratic state. Kosovo's declaration of independence and declaration of independence was made by the former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, while the president at the time was Fatmir Sejdiu.
