Non-payment of teachers' salaries is considered a violation of the right to strike

The non-execution of salaries for September for education workers because they were on strike is being considered as an illegal action by the Government of Kosovo. Experts on legal issues point out that with these positions the Government is violating the right to strike, a right guaranteed by the Constitution and the law.

The executive director of the Kosovo Law Institute, Ehat Miftaraj, said that it is unfortunate how the Kosovo executive is implementing discriminatory policies in relation to teachers and public officials.

He says that according to the laws applicable in Kosovo, it is forbidden not to execute the salaries of the strikers, therefore he requested that the government of Kosovo interpret the laws and not read them...
