At the Cultural Center in Mitrovica, an exhibition opened featuring photographs of the “Night of Terror,” when 26 years ago in the north of the country, ten Albanian civilians were killed, including women, children, and the elderly.

The Mayor of South Mitrovica, Faton Peci, stated that the organizers and perpetrators of these crimes must face justice.

Then, in the series of activities marking February 3 and 4, known in Mitrovica and, I believe, across all Albanian territories as the ‘Night of Terror,’ we continue with events that reflect all the horrific crimes that took place in Mitrovica during the ’90s, during the war and after the war. I believe that local and international law enforcement and justice institutions must bring the actors, who were organizers and perpetrators of these horrific crimes, before the justice system as soon as possible to receive the punishment they deserve. All these photographs that we saw in this exhibition are part of activities of this level for the first time: from plaques, exhibitions, and other events with Albanian citizens in the north, in their homes, and finally, the lighting of candles,” he said.
