Murati: We will revise the budget next month
Finance Minister Hekuran Murati stated that once the 2026 budget is approved, they plan to revise it next month.
The head of the state’s treasury said this year’s budget comes mainly as an emergency measure, following delays and the political crisis throughout last year.
“In our first meeting as the new government, to proceed with the draft law as it was, without necessarily reflecting all the changes needed for priorities and the government structure at this moment, we will address these in a later revision. This draft law is the same one approved on October 31 of last year, as provided by law. The tables are similar, with the only change regarding the 13th salary, which is now planned to be paid at the beginning of the year rather than at the end. Another planned change concerns adjustments in the tables in law regarding ministries, when the government approves the government regulation. We will bring the revision as soon as possible, potentially next month, after the ministries and municipalities have had time to reflect on it.”
During the parliamentary session reviewing the 2026 draft budget, he said the budget is around four billion euros.
“These expenditures are divided into categories as follows: salaries and allowances 980 million euros, goods and services 545 million euros, subsidies and transfers 1 billion 358 million euros, and capital expenditures 998.4 million euros, of which 870 million euros are financed from the regular budget and 100 million euros from the investment clause,” he added.
The approval of the budget in Parliament was supported by the deputies of the Vetëvendosje Movement.
