Murati reveals the amount of citizens’ savings in commercial banks
Acting Minister of Finance, Labour and Transfers, Hekuran Murati, has said that deposits and savings of Kosovar households in banks had reached €4.69 billion by the end of October.
In a Facebook post, Murati referred to official data from the time series on the Central Bank of Kosovo’s website, according to which deposits and savings of households in Kosovo’s banks have reached a record of €4.69 billion.
“This represents an increase of €2.12 billion, or 82.5 percent, compared to October five years ago, when deposits and savings of households in Kosovo stood at €2.57 billion. For comparison, in the five-year period prior to the Kurti Government, household deposits and savings had increased by only €745 million, or 40.8%,” Murati wrote.
He added that in the 2020–2025 period, the growth of money in banks (deposits/savings) for households in Kosovo has been more than twice as fast as the growth of money in banks during the previous five-year period of earlier governments (82.5% vs 40.8%).
