The Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK) and the Municipality of Fushë Kosovë have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at implementing capital projects in the municipality.
Under this agreement, KEK assumes social responsibility by investing in the areas where it operates as a form of compensation for damages caused by its energy activities.
“The framework of this memorandum… includes facilitating and finding ways for cooperation between the Municipality of Fushë Kosovë and the Kosovo Energy Corporation, based on KEK’s social responsibility towards the residents of Fushë Kosovë and the surrounding area affected by KEK’s operations. It is necessary for KEK to make investments that will compensate for the damage caused, turning it into tangible benefits through capital projects. We hope that these capital projects will receive ongoing support from KEK. Such a memorandum should have been signed years ago, but this willingness did not exist in the past,” Prebreza said.
Meanwhile, KEK CEO Gramos Hashani said that this cooperation should have happened much earlier, but conditions were only now met. He added that through this agreement, KEK commits to direct support for the community, while the municipality will provide coordination and administrative facilitation for KEK’s needs.
