Maqedonci: In coordination with KFOR, KSF teams have launched the search operation in Ujman
"In cooperation with the Emergency Management Agency, the Kosova Police, and in coordination with KFOR, the specialized teams of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) have started the search operation in Lake Ujman with the aim of retrieving the body of our compatriot as soon as possible and easing the pain of the family, said the Minister of Defense, Ejup Maqedonci in a Facebook post.
Maqedonci made the statement after KSF troops were deployed to Lake Ujman, in the north of the country, joining other teams in the search for the person who has been missing since Sunday.
He emphasized that one of the core duties of the Kosovo Security Force is to support civilian authorities.
"The specialized diving and search-and-rescue units of the Kosovo Security Force this morning were engaged in support of civilian authorities to search for the body of our compatriot in Lake Ujman, in the Municipality of Zubin Potok," Maqedonci wrote.
The deployment of KSF troops in the northern area, which is predominantly populated by Serbs, can only take place with prior approval from KFOR, based on an agreement made in 2013 between the Government of Kosovo and NATO. /KosovaPress
