As part of the case codenamed “Bregdeti,” on January 21, 2026, at around 11:00 p.m., near the Merdare border crossing point, the suspect H.S. was stopped while driving a truck with local license plates. During a search of the truck, 68 packages containing a suspected narcotic substance, marijuana, were found hidden, with a total weight of 76 kilograms and 800 grams.

In addition, by court order, a search of the suspect’s house was conducted with the assistance of the Rapid Response Unit, during which the following items were seized: a firearm with five rounds of 9.9 mm caliber ammunition, two cars, one truck, a mobile phone, and 2,950 euros in cash.

As the operation continued, on January 22, 2026, raids were also carried out at two other locations—the homes of two Kosovar male suspects in the village of Godishnjak in Podujevë. During the searches, four packages of marijuana weighing 4 kilograms and 454 grams were found, along with two cars, two mobile phones, empty nylon bags and adhesive tape used for packaging narcotics, as well as a gas gun of the “Sig Sauer” model.

By order of the state prosecutor, a 48-hour detention measure has been imposed on the three suspects. The Prosecution announced that it will undertake all further investigative actions in accordance with the law.

The State Prosecution and the Kosovo Police emphasized that they remain committed to combating organized crime and drug trafficking, with the aim of uncovering criminal offenses and ensuring a safer environment for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, has carried out a successful operation against drug trafficking following several months of investigations and the implementation of special investigative measures.
