Kurti: The EU should find a mechanism to make the agreement with Serbia legally binding
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has stated today that it is up to the European Union to find a mechanism to make the agreement with Serbia legally and internationally binding.
He emphasized that they went to Ohrid with good intentions and showed good faith during yesterday's meetings.
Kurti thanked the envoy of the United States of America for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, the head of the EU's foreign policy, Josep Borrell, the EU's special envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, for the commitment, as well as North Macedonia for the hospitality.
We have now reached an agreement on an implementation annex to the Basic Agreement. Serbia—just as in the last meeting in Brussels—avoided signing the Agreement, and now also the Annex. It's up to the EU to find a mechanism to make the agreement legally & internationally binding.
