The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, together with colleagues from the government cabinet, hosted a meeting with a delegation led by the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, and the Chair of the European Union Military Committee, General Sean Clancy.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Kurti expressed gratitude for NATO’s continued engagement and commitment to peace, stability, and deterrence in Kosovo and the Western Balkans, saying that the role of KFOR remains essential not only for the country’s security but for the entire region.

According to a statement from the Government, Kurti stressed that for Kosovo, NATO is not only a security guarantor but also a strategic orientation and destination. In the context of the European integration process, he said that alongside accession policy, importance should also be given to the desire for membership.

After speaking about the increased level of security in the country, with particular focus on the north, the Prime Minister in a regional context mentioned Serbia’s destabilizing ambitions supported by Russia.

Prime Minister Kurti also emphasized the close cooperation of the Kosovo Security Force with NATO.
