Kurti meets with Admiral Munsch: Kosovo's defense budget is over 200 million euros

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received in a meeting the Commander of Allied Joint Force Command, Naples, Admiral Stuart Munsch, with whom they discussed the developments in the country and the region and the security situation in general.

Emphasizing the importance of cooperation between our security and defense institutions with the KFOR mission in Kosovo, Prime Minister Kurti expressed his readiness and willingness for cooperation and continuous communication, thanks to joint work and in the service of peace and security, in parallel with rule of law and order.

"He also underlined that the total amount of the budget allocated for defense in 2023 exceeds the amount of 200 million euros, or over 2% of the Gross Domestic Product, this criterion for NATO member states, the Prime Minister underlined the aim of the Republic of Kosovo for membership in NATO", reads the Government's communique.

Prime Minister Kurti thanked Admiral Munsch for the meeting and conversation, as well as the positive contribution of KFOR and NATO. In the meeting, the Prime Minister was accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla and the Minister for Communities and Returns, Nenad Rashiq, while Admiral Munsch was accompanied by the KFOR Commander, Ozkan Ulutas.
