The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met today with the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Aivo Orav, where they discussed the European integration process and the cooperation between Kosovo and the EU.

The Prime Minister emphasized the full commitment of the government on the path toward European Union integration and its commitment to implementing necessary reforms.

Regarding the current situation in the country and Ambassador Orav's interest, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of completing the steps for the constitution of the Assembly, as a necessity for the formation of new institutions after the February 9 elections, and continuing the work of the legislature, where key international agreements for Kosovo's European integration, such as the one related to the Growth Plan, are also awaiting approval.

According to an official statement, the discussion also focused on the importance of regional cooperation and the EU's role, as a continuation of last week’s Western Balkans Leaders’ meeting on the European Union Growth Plan held in Skopje.

The security situation was also addressed during the meeting, where the Prime Minister commended the work and commitment of Kosovo’s security institutions in facing threats originating from unfriendly states.
