The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, following yet another failed constitutive session, stated that the only interest of Vetëvendosje is to deepen and prolong this crisis which the country has been facing for six months now.

Krasniqi, who said he would vote for MPs who have not been part of the government cabinet, explained that when MP Dimal Basha was proposed, they requested a ten-minute break to discuss with the parliamentary group about voting, but were ignored by presiding chair Avni Dehari.

Krasniqi added that PDK has no obligation to vote for Vetëvendosje’s proposals, since they have no agreement and do not seek any agreement with them.

Krasniqi emphasized that the Assembly Speaker cannot be elected clandestinely and that this is not a lottery with the fate of the citizens and state institutions.

He added that they could vote for candidates who have not been ministers, but prior ten-minute consultations among the heads of the parliamentary groups during the session are necessary. /A. Shala/
