The Transmission System and Market Operator of Kosovo (KOSTT) is implementing projects worth €30 million, in cooperation with the German Development Bank, and is negotiating another package of €35 million to improve the electricity transmission system in Kosovo.

Shaban Neziri, Acting Chief Executive Officer at KOSTT, emphasized that these investments will help integrate new sources and ensure the security of energy supply.

To ensure transparency, KOSTT will publish data on load and management measures on its official website.

“Currently KOSTT has a project package worth €30 million which is being implemented in cooperation with the German Development Bank, and we are also negotiating another package worth €35 million. These investments are expected to increase transmission capacity across the country, create real opportunities for integrating new sources for higher operational security and fewer technical constraints… We are also working closely with operators and relevant institutions to coordinate resources that affect system stability. For transparency, KOSTT will regularly publish data on load and management measures on the website. Finally, I want to emphasize that the main challenge is peak management; any reduction in consumption during peak hours when it is high helps the system remain stable for everyone,” he said.

Neziri also appealed to citizens and businesses to use energy more rationally and to avoid using high-load appliances during peak hours to maintain system stability.

“We call on citizens and businesses, whenever possible, to shift the use of high-load appliances outside peak hours and to consume energy as rationally as possible so that supply is guaranteed for everyone. We will continue to invest and operate according to high standards, because we believe that secure energy is the foundation of the economy and quality of life,” he emphasized.

KOSTT will continue to invest and operate with high standards, ensuring that secure energy remains a key element for economic development and the improvement of quality of life in the country.
