Natalia Kostina from the Ukrainian News Agency UKRINFORM considers that Kosovo has a problem with Serbian propaganda, just as Ukraine is challenged with Russian propaganda.

In an interview for KosovaPress, Kostina says that due to Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine, 16 Ukrainian journalists have died while they were on duty.

"It's very big diversity, because we have some common challenges, probably finance, trust etc, etc. We have absolutely different level of such challenges like disinformation", said Kostina.

Kostina considers that in terms of Russian disinformation and propaganda, her country is the leading country in the region.

"It's a hard period. I think, all in Ukraine stresses after almost two years of war, but what about media, they are really very professional in the case of Russian propaganda. Ukraine is really going to bring into the court. And I think it will be such kind of experience and after another country could use probably. So, I think in fighting disinformation we are on a leading place in region, but concerning mostly of Russia propaganda. I think in Kosovo you have similar challenges but with some other actors", said Kostina.

Speaking about the challenges that journalists have faced while reporting, Kostina says that 16 Ukrainian journalists have been killed in the war because of their professional responsibility, some as civilians, and others because they were serving in the army.

“Last Report of our national union of journalist..., almost 80 journalists killed in Ukraine, 16 because of professional responsibility, and some civilian, and the other because they were serving in the military. So, in the beginning of the war, probably most of journalists, I mean, active journalists decided to go to the war as soldiers. Because they decided it's more important to defend with weapons then defend by the words”, she said.

According to her, all people still suffer at the same level from the war that is taking place there.

"It's not some kind of category of people who had some preferences. It's still like, all people of Ukraine, I mean they suffer in the same level", said Kostina.

Kostina, who was a participant in the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the KosovaPress News Agency, also called to protect the privileges of new democracies. /E.Krasniqi/
