World No Tobacco Day was marked under the slogan “Unmasking the Appeal – Combating Addiction to Nicotine and Tobacco” by the Ministry of Health, specifically the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science as well as municipal education directorates.

This awareness-raising activity was held during the day today.

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health on the social network Facebook, the activity aimed to raise awareness among young people and citizens about the harmful consequences of the use of tobacco and nicotine products, KosovaPress reports.

“Through this organization, the goal was to sensitize the community about the negative impact these products have on health, especially among younger generations, and to encourage them to choose healthier lifestyles,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced that the activity was enriched with the awarding of prizes to students participating in a competition featuring works with anti-smoking messages, as well as the exhibition of their works.

These works conveyed awareness-raising and creative messages against the use of tobacco and nicotine.

In the end, the Ministry conveyed the message that every decision made today for health is an investment in the future of coming generations.
