The Director of the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Besnik Buzhala, said on Tuesday that from 6 May until 17 May, the CEC received 11,840 requests to change polling stations, of which 11,276 were approved, while 564 were rejected.

Also, as part of the preparatory process, the CEC in this meeting approved the operational security plan for the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo. The purpose of this plan is inter-institutional cooperation for election security, coordination with law enforcement bodies, and management of possible situations. The commission also approved the training programme and training curriculum for the early elections.

In addition, at today’s meeting, the CEC approved the design and content of the ballot paper as well as the election brochure for the early elections.

The ballot paper includes 21 political entities listed according to the drawing of serial numbers and will be used for voting at diplomatic missions on 6 June and at polling stations in Kosovo on 7 June. In line with Kosovo’s Law on the Use of Languages, in addition to Albanian and Serbian, ballots in some municipalities will also include other community languages.

Thus, in the Municipality of Prizren, the ballot will include instructions in Turkish and Bosnian; in the Municipality of Mamushë in Turkish; in the Municipality of Obiliq in Romani; and in the Municipality of Dragash in Bosnian.
