At the polling center at the “Lidhja e Prizrenit” Primary School, everything is now ready for the start of the electoral process for the extraordinary parliamentary elections.

The manager of this polling center, Mejreme Kolica-Shatri, said that the electoral material arrived on time and that everything is ready for the electoral process to begin.

She added that this polling center has five polling stations.

“The material arrived on time, everything is in order and we are ready to start the voting. Here, 3,945 voters have the right to vote. The first to open the polling center will be the Chairperson of the CEC, Kreshnik Radoniqi. In this school there are five polling stations,” she said.

The principal of this school told KosovaPress that the assistance desk is missing again in this electoral process as well, but that a ramp has been arranged to provide access for persons with special needs.

“The assistance desk is again missing; otherwise, we had some problems with the stairs for people with special needs, and that part has been addressed,” she said.

The number of voters with the right to vote in the municipality of Peja is 117,413 voters in a total of 30 counting centers in 139 polling stations, with one conditional polling center with a total of two polling stations.

A total of 1,999,024 people have the right to vote in these elections.

The electoral process will take place in 910 polling centers with 2,557 polling stations. Regular voting will be enabled at these centers, while in each municipality there will be one conditional polling center with a total of 57 polling stations, where conditional voting will be enabled.

The proper conduct of this electoral process will also be monitored from a security perspective by the Kosovo Police and the Office of the State Prosecutor, from which around 100 prosecutors and officials of the prosecutorial system have been engaged.

On February 9 of this year, the citizens of Kosovo voted in the regular parliamentary elections, in which voter turnout was 46.54%.
