Kosovo Prosecution handled over 1,100 corruption cases, seized assets worth more than €64 million
Kosovo State Prosecutor handled a total of 1,191 corruption cases during 2025, of which 903 were resolved, according to the annual report presented by Acting Chief State Prosecutor Agron Qalaj.
During a meeting of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, Qalaj presented the 2025 annual report.
“During 2025, the State Prosecutor received 45,295 criminal reports, or 60.20 percent of the total caseload, and managed to resolve 42,123 reports, or 55.98 percent. A total of 33,117 cases remained unresolved. The Serious Crimes Departments of the Basic Prosecution Offices resolved 3,693 more criminal reports than they received. The Juvenile Department resolved 2,430 reports, or 15.89 percent fewer than it received. Meanwhile, the General Departments resolved 23,642 reports, which is 2,541 fewer than the number received. The State Prosecutor paid particular attention to alternative procedures, resolving 3,525 cases involving known perpetrators. Regarding corruption cases, in 2025 the prosecution received 1,191 cases and resolved 903 of them,” he said.
According to the report, during 2025 the State Prosecutor also handled cases related to corruption, economic crimes, organized crime, terrorism, human trafficking, and domestic violence.
The report further highlighted that the State Prosecutor placed significant emphasis on alternative procedures, while 3,525 cases involving identified perpetrators were resolved.
