The Food and Veterinary Agency announces that, based on official reports from ADIS and the WOAH, the diseases PPR – Peste des Petits Ruminants (sheep and goat plague) and Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), highly pathogenic serotype HPAI–H5N1, are no longer present in the territory of the Republic of Albania.

According to the announcement, pursuant to the Veterinary Law No. 2004/21, a decision has been taken to lift the import ban and allow the import of live animals—sheep and goats and their products—as well as live poultry and poultry products originating from the Republic of Albania.

“The decision enters into force immediately,” the AUV statement said.
