The Assembly of Kosovo has approved the deployment of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) as part of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.

With 89 votes in favor, none against, and no abstentions, MPs approved the government decision dated March 30.

Earlier, Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) MP Enver Hoxhaj described as absurd the fact that, according to him, the government still does not have a legal opinion on the treaty.

Meanwhile, Vetëvendosje Movement MP Arbëreshë Kryeziu Hyseni said this should be the last topic for political debate.

"Precisely the issue of the Peace Board agreement should have been the last topic we would raise in political debate here in the Assembly today, which unfortunately we are seeing for the second time in a row. These discussions, Mr. Hoxhaj, we could conduct in a completely normal way if you would participate in committee meetings and together we would discuss how to move forward,” she said.

LDK MP Lutfi Haziri also said it is concerning that the government has still not provided an opinion.

On the other hand, AAK MP Albana Bytyqi said that Kosovo’s participation in such a mission proves the professionalism, readiness, and commitment of its soldiers.

“This is a major and very meaningful step for our country because it confirms that although we are a small and young state, Kosovo is not only a beneficiary of international peace and security but also an active contributor to their maintenance. The fact that for years we have received the support of the international community makes us happy that today we proudly and honorably have the opportunity to turn that support into action,” she said.
