Kurti, at a government meeting on Wednesday, announced that he has decided to establish an inter-ministerial commission to take the first steps towards establishing a military industry.

He said that the initial goal is to launch procedures and negotiations regarding the opening of a factory for the production of ammunition and a laboratory for the design of unmanned aerial vehicles.

“We are marking this important day for our army with an important decision, which I just signed, before coming here to the meeting. A necessary step, we believe, to guarantee its sustainable development. We will establish an inter-ministerial committee for the purpose of evaluating and initiating procedures and negotiations regarding the opening of a factory for the production of ammunition, and a laboratory on the design of unmanned aerial vehicles in the Republic of Kosovo”, said Kurti.
