The Director of Swisscontact in Kosovo, Argjentina Grazhdani described as very important the organization of the KosovaPress News Agency to mark the Convention of the General Assembly of the Alliance of Balkan News Agencies (ABNA), in which, KosovaPress is a full member.
KosovaPress has gathered in Prishtina representatives of news agencies from 12 Balkan countries, who are discussing the challenges they face during the pandemic and the space that should be given to tourism.
Regarding the latter, Grazhdani said that the pandemic has hindered development but that all countries see the recovery of tourism starting from the segments of the region.
Grazhdani: Kosovo lacks tourists from the region
"Due to the promotion of Kosovo as a regional destination, Kosovo has many tourists, there are many people from diaspora, who more and more have begun to behave like tourists, there is domestic tourism, but we lack tourists from the region. Of course, Albania is the largest segment of tourists from the region, but it would be good and we, as a project funded by the Swiss government, claim that there is room for the increase of the number of tourists from the region, from Bulgaria, Turkey, Macedonia and Serbia", she said.
She added that the role of the media is extremely important to disseminate accurate information to different tourist destinations.
Grazhdani: KosovaPress is raising the role of Kosovar journalism at the regional level
"I really congratulate KosovaPress, that first of all, you are a member of regional agencies and in this way, you are actually raising the role of Kosovar journalism at the regional level, it is to be congratulated", she said.
In the proceedings of the 29th Convention of the General Assembly of the Alliance of Balkan News Agencies (ABNA), which this year is being held in Prishtina under the organization of KosovaPress News Agency, is discussed the importance of presenting tourism through the media and opportunities for cooperation that may be between public tourism institutions and the media.
