Within three years, the Health Information System (SISh) in Kosovo is planned to be completed, said Acting Minister of Digitalization and Public Administration, Lulëzon Jagxhiu.

Jagxhiu made these remarks following the launch at the Gynecology Clinic of the new digital service for the life event “childbirth,” stating that with the support of KOMPAS, funded by the World Bank, 14 components of the SISh will be developed.

“Together with the Ministry of Health, with the support of the KOMPAS project, funded by the World Bank and ratified in the Assembly about two months ago, we are in the process of building 14 components or pillars of the health information ecosystem, which within three years will be completed and will bring a fundamental change in the way health services are delivered,” he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Minister of Health Arben Vitia stated that the SISh must not be completed hastily, and for this reason, he said, an in-depth analysis has been carried out for its completion.

No such process as the Health Information System, which has an extraordinary impact on health reforms, can be approached with the idea of finishing it as quickly as possible in a rushed way, because we have learned from the past. For this reason, together with the Minister of Public Administration and Digitalization, we have carried out a thorough analysis where each step is defined when, how, and in what way it will be done,” he said.

Regarding the Compulsory Health Insurance Law, Vitia said measures have been taken to ensure the system is well organized and does not fail.

As for the construction of the Pristina Hospital, the Acting Minister of Health, Arben Vitia, called for greater coordination with municipal officials, including those of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK).
