The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MINTI) has fined the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) €110,000 over expired electricity meters.

This was done through a press release, where it is stated that during the month of May, the verification of electricity meters of consumers who submitted complaints to the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship, Trade and Innovation (MINTI) continued.

According to data from the Kosovo Metrology Agency, the inspections carried out found that 18 meters had expired validity periods, 2 meters had withdrawn type approval, while 30 meters had inaccuracies in date and time.

“Meanwhile, official verification reports have also been submitted to KESCO, with the aim of compensating affected consumers. The process of meter verification will continue in the coming period, until the full processing and review of all complaints submitted to the Department for Consumer Protection is completed,” the statement reads.
