The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has expressed deep concern over numerous problems caused by the prolonged blockage resulting from the Law on Public Property, a press release reported by KosovaPress states.

Executive Director Kushtrim Ahmeti said that the prolonged institutional crisis has further worsened issues for a large number of companies.

At the KCCI meeting, Ahmeti also emphasized that the blockage has reduced the economic capacity of businesses, putting many workers at risk, increasing prices, causing a sharp rise in imports from Serbia and North Macedonia, as well as other supply chain problems.

“Many companies have already given up on increasing investments in Kosovo, others are looking to invest abroad, and a negative message is being sent regarding foreign investments,” he said.

During the meeting, board member Idriz Zejnullahu and two members of the working group, Faton Nuredini and Binak Kalludra, presented to attendees details about the problems the blockage has caused for the mining sector.

Participants agreed on the urgent need for measures within enterprises to amend the Law on Public Property.
