Kosovo Assembly Presidency sets Monday plenary session

The Presidency of the Assembly at today’s meeting has scheduled a plenary session for 27 April, Monday. This has been announced by Speaker Albulena Haxhiu, who said that the session will start at 10:00 and will address several draft laws, including Kosovo’s membership in the Peace Board.

After the Presidency meeting, Haxhiu, who is also acting President of the Republic of Kosovo, said that “we are waiting for a consensus regarding the issue of the president.”

“Of course, it does not relate to the issue of the president, I would like it to be so, but we are still waiting for a consensus regarding the issue of the election of the president or the future president. Let me inform you that the Presidency of the Assembly decided that on 27 April at 10:00 there will be a new session of the Assembly to address several very important issues, and in this regard is the draft law on Kosovo’s membership in the Peace Board, the draft law on ratification of the agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania for the Mediterranean Games 2030. Also, the draft law on electricity, the central inspectorate of cultural heritage, the appointment of three members of the State Council of Quality and the Kosovo Accreditation Agency, and the government proposal for the formation of the commission for the bar exam,” she said.

In case the country goes to extraordinary elections, Haxhiu said it is important that these draft laws are voted on beforehand.

“If the country goes to extraordinary elections, then it is important that before that these issues, which are very important for the Republic of Kosovo but also for the interests of citizens, are voted on. As you know, tomorrow we will also have plenary sessions and then the Monday session,” she added.
