The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, has said that the European Union does not have the competence to propose to Kosovo a draft of the statute for the establishment of the Association.

A day after the request of the US ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, that Kosovo send the draft proposed by the Euro-American diplomats to the Constitutional Court, Speaker Konjufca said that Kosovo cannot stand ready and whatever draft the EU proposes to send to the Constitutional Court.

He said that he understood the US ambassador's request that Kosovo should address its own draft to the Constitutional Court.

He added that the reaction of the Americans has come more because of the decision on the dinar, for which he emphasized that a solution can be found very easily.

On the other hand, Konjufca welcomed yesterday's resolution of the European Parliament, which calls for a new approach to dialogue and removal of measures against Kosovo.

Speaking about the judicial process against him, where days ago he was acquitted of the charge of throwing tear gas in the Assembly, Konjufca said that he was a little surprised by that decision.
