Consumer product prices in Kosovo increased by 4.5 percent in August 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, monthly inflation was 0.5 percent in August.
According to the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, the highest price increase in August was for electricity, at 17.1 percent.
“The overall Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices is higher on average by 4.5% in August 2025 compared to August 2024. This is mainly explained by the increase in consumer prices in this period in the following COICOP groups and sub-groups: electricity (17.1%), package holidays (17.1%), coffee, tea and cocoa (16.7%), fruits (16.6%), meat (12.4%), maintenance and repair of personal transport equipment (10.7%), other services related to personal transport equipment (10.4%), vegetables (9.7%), oils and fats (8.6%), catering services (8.2%), milk, cheese and eggs (8.2%), outpatient services (7.3%), newspapers, books and stationery (6.3%), alcoholic beverages (6.2%), mineral water, soft drinks, fruit and vegetable juices (5.7%), goods and services for routine household maintenance (5.3%), financial services (5.2%), household and garden tools and equipment (4.9%), bread and cereals (4.7%), personal care (4.6%), fish (4.1%), maintenance and repair of dwellings (3.9%), food products (3.6%), water supply and various dwelling services (3.5%), tobacco (3.4%), sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery (3.3%),” the KAS report states.
According to KAS, this was mainly explained by the increase in consumer prices during this period in the following COICOP groups and sub-groups: airfares (+15.4%), milk, cheese and eggs (+2.4%), vegetables (+1.2%), fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment (+0.8%), with a combined impact of +0.5% on the HICP.
