A police officer has passed away in Kacanik after being found seriously wounded at the entrance of his building on Tuesday around 11:00 PM.

He was transported to the Medical Center in Kacanik but did not survive his injuries, police spokesperson for the Ferizaj region Kanun Veseli told KosovaPress. It is reported that teams arrived at the scene, but the circumstances remain unknown.

"On April 1, 2025, around 11:00 PM, we received information that a person had been wounded and was in critical condition at the entrance of his building on 'Idriz Seferi' street in Kacanik. The victim is a member of the Kosovo Police. At the scene, in addition to police units, the emergency team from Kacanik also arrived and transported him to the Medical Center in Kacanik. As a result of his injuries, the police officer passed away, as confirmed by the doctors at this center. The state prosecutor and the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo have been informed of all police actions. Investigators and regional crime technicians have arrived at the scene to carry out the necessary examinations. The causes of this incident are still unknown," Veseli stated.
