The Judicial Council of Kosovo (KGJK) has approved the report of the panel for reviewing applications, interviewing, evaluating, and recommending candidates for judges at the Court of Appeals.
In this context, it was decided that, starting from May 1, 2025, the judge at the Basic Court in Mitrovica, Ali Kutllovci, will be promoted to the position of judge at the Court of Appeals, KosovaPress reports.
Member of the Judicial Council of Kosovo Teuta Ibrahimi pointed out that initially four candidates applied for this position, but later two withdrew. She said that the successful candidate recommended for the promotion to the position of judge at the Court of Appeals is Ali Kutllovci.Meanwhile, a different issue was raised by another member of the Judicial Council of Kosovo, Fahret Vellija, who said that he was concerned about the way discussions were held in the assembly, as according to him, some court presidents pointed out that they did not know what the competences of the Court Administration Commission (KAGJ) are.
On the other hand, also member of KGJK Ahmet Imami, commented on the appointment of the coordinator by the Assembly of Court Presidents, stating that, in his opinion, it would have been more appropriate to have a representative from the Court Administration Commission. Regarding this, the Chairman of the Judicial Council of Kosovo, Albert Zogaj, said that appointing a coordinator is meant to facilitate the process so that communication between courts and commissions is improved.Additionally, the approval of "Reviewing the amendment of the Work Plan of the Basic Court of Pristina, number GJ.A.122/2025, dated March 5, 2025" and "Reviewing the amendment of the Work Plan of the Basic Court of Gjakova, number A.GJ.68/2025, dated March 19, 2025" was also made.
