The new Ambassador of the United States of America (USA) in Pristina, Jeff Hovenier, will officially take office today. The current Charge d'Affaires at the US Embassy Nicholas J. Giacobbe has announced that his formalization ceremony will take place today. Hovenier, who played a role in the negotiations that eventually led to Kosovo's declaration of independence, was appointed ambassador to Kosovi by President Joe Biden in July 2021 and was unanimously confirmed by the US Senate on 18 November.
