The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo has filed an indictment against two individuals with the initials D.B. and E.B. for the criminal offense of “Incitement to Division and Intolerance,” according to the Kosovo Penal Code.

According to the indictment, the accused are alleged to have spread extremist religious ideology through the social media platforms Facebook and TikTok and publicly expressed support for the terrorist organization ISIS, through posts with inciting content and calls to participate in armed conflicts and in the “struggle for jihad.”

Investigations revealed that D.B. and E.B. had placed ISIS flags on the roof of their house and had written graffiti in Arabic on the walls, actions that, according to the Prosecution, could endanger public order and safety.

Additionally, D.B. is accused of distributing offensive materials targeting members of the Islamic Community of Kosovo, as well as openly rejecting any interpretation of the religion that did not align with his beliefs.

The Prosecution has requested the Basic Court in Prishtina to declare the accused guilty and to continue the detention of D.B., as well as house arrest for E.B.

The indictment has been filed in accordance with the laws in force and remains in the hands of the court for a final decision.
