Investigation into the animal by-products factory, searches at four state institutions

The case prosecutor, Admir Shala, said that the Special Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation related to the leasing of the factory for processing animal by-products.

Shala stated that the investigation is ongoing under suspicion regarding the leasing of this factory.

“The Special Prosecutor’s Office has started an investigation regarding the leasing of the factory for processing animal by-products. The investigation is ongoing based on suspicions about the leasing of this factory. We are currently in the investigation phase; we are conducting searches and controls based on a court order from the preliminary procedure judge of the Basic Court in Prishtina at the request of the Special Prosecutor’s Office. Also, with our authorization, the police, together with us, are undertaking all necessary actions to secure the required information and properly clarify the specific case. We cannot provide detailed information at this time,” he said.

Prosecutor Shala added that the searches are taking place in four locations: the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agency for Agricultural Development, the Food and Veterinary Agency, and the company that benefited from the contract.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture stated that they are at the disposal of law enforcement and judicial authorities, providing any information they request, emphasizing the importance of the rule of law.
