The Chess Federation of Kosovo held the individual championship for the youth age groups, a competition that highlighted the great talent of many young people involved in this sport.
Although all participants were under 18 years old, the competition was of high quality and featured duels that brought great adrenaline.
At the closing of the championship, the Director of Sports in the Municipality of Prishtina, Kushtrim Mushica, said that soon the sport of chess will have its own hall where all championships and other activities will be held continuously.
“As the Directorate of Sports, we always try to provide the proper support for the sport of chess. I hope that the next championship or upcoming championships in this sport will take place in facilities that will be the home of this sport so that you have your own conditions and your address. The youth I see today will produce world chess players who will represent our country in the best way,” Mushica emphasized.“What is very important is that in this championship we have the novelty of having the youngest champion Kosovo has ever had. He is Mal Berisha, who at five and a half years old is declared champion for the youth age groups. Besides Mal, I congratulate all the winners on their championship titles, and all champions will represent Kosovo in the European and World competitions to be held this year,” said Budima.
