Human remains suspected to belong to at least one individual who went missing during the Kosovo war have been found in Rahovec.

The Kosovo Police announced that the remains were discovered on Monday, March 9, in Rahovec. It is reported that they were collected from the site and sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) for forensic examination, autopsy, and DNA analysis, with the aim of identifying the individual.

“Regarding the case of 09.03.2026, during ongoing work, the relevant police unit, in coordination with the IML and based on a court order, came across human skeletal remains that are suspected to belong to at least one individual who went missing during the Kosovo war. The remains were collected from the site and sent to the IML for forensic examination, autopsy, and DNA analysis, with the aim of identification,” the announcement reads, as reported by KosovaPress.
