The MP of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, appealed to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, to reach a compromise solution with the unions.

Hoxhaj, who is also the deputy speaker of the legislature, during the parliamentary debate on the strike in education, said that Kurti does not need to play the role of the tough guy in relation to the unions and the opposition.

"(The prime minister) does not need to play the role of the tough guy in relation to the unions. There is no need to play the role of the tough guy in relation to the opposition. he needs to understand what the democratic process looks like. It appears in this form, the dialogue is a platform to reach the truth, and that is the compromise. The compromise is what the unions and the teachers are looking for, and a compromise within the possibilities that the Government of Kosovo has to make in order to find a solution", he emphasized.

The teachers of all public institutions in Kosovo are on strike, with the request for financial support of 100 euros per month. Exceptions are made only by a few teachers who have started to hold classes individually. Public administration workers, as well as civil servants in local and central institutions, are also on strike from August 25.
