How will minorities be represented in the Assembly of Kosovo?

The representation of communities in the Assembly of Kosovo is done within the framework of guaranteed seats, 20 of them. The community with the most MPs is the Serbian community with 10 mandates. In the highest legislative body, the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities are guaranteed one seat each and one (1) additional seat is given to one of these three communities that has the largest number of total votes. Meanwhile, the Bosniak community is guaranteed three seats, the Turkish community two seats and the Gorani community one seat.

The distribution of seats in the Assembly of Kosovo is provided for in the Law on General Elections in the Republic of Kosovo, namely in accordance with Article 111.1.

In the results so far, the Serbian List with over 38 thousand votes has secured nine seats in the Kosovo Assembly.

Behind it are the parties of the Egyptian community, the New Democratic Initiative of Kosovo with over 4 thousand votes and the Egyptian Liberal Party with over 2400 votes, where two mandates have been secured.

The Bosniak community has secured three seats, where “Nova Demokratska Stranka” has received 3599 votes, “Koalicija Vakat” 3255 votes and “Socijaldemokratska Unija”2531 votes.
