U.S. President Donald Trump has announced tariffs on nearly two hundred countries worldwide, including Kosovo and Albania. These two countries will face a 10% tariff, KosovaPress reports.
But how do the citizens of Kosovo view the latest decision by the Trump administration? Some believe it is a heavy burden for Kosovo, while others see it as a reciprocal measure and hope for an agreement between the U.S. and Kosovo to remove the tariff.
Meanwhile, another citizen, Pashk Desku, says that U.S. President Donald Trump has not imposed tariffs only on Kosovo. He hopes a solution will be found while also pointing out the differences between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and President Vjosa Osmani on this matter.
Nazmi Sahitaj sees this measure as a reciprocal tariff. He says that Kosovo also had a 10% tax on U.S. products, and according to him, neither Kosovo nor the U.S. should have imposed such measures. Furthermore, he believes Kosovo should remove its tax within 24 hours for the U.S., as it does not have a significant financial impact, while maintaining strong relations with the U.S. is of utmost importance. The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also supported calls for the government to remove customs duties on U.S. products.
The Chamber has long raised concerns about this issue, which arose due to the Trump administration's decision, KosovaPress reports.
