Kosovo’s air sport has marked a historic moment.

Paragliding pilot Lisjeta Thaqi has been ranked number 1 in the world in the women’s category, placing Kosovo at the top of precision paragliding on the international stage.

“This extraordinary success represents more than a personal achievement. It is a victory for Kosovo sport, for the sporting aviation community, and for all those who believe in hard work, discipline, and long-term vision. The achievement comes under the leadership of her coach, world and European record holder Fanol Shala, who with dedication and experience has built a team of champions who today are writing history on the global stage,” the Aeronautical Federation of Kosovo said in a statement.

Under the umbrella of the Aeronautical Federation of Kosovo, this result proves that Kosovo is now a serious and competitive force in precision paragliding, successfully competing with the most powerful countries in this sport.
